Quality Manager, Technoset, Rugby
I began working at Technoset 10 years ago, when I started as a Quality Engineer. However, since 2018, I have been a Quality Manager.
When I was 25, I changed my career path and started working as a CNC Turner, before I progressed into milling. I became interested in metrology after a period of helping out in the inspection department, when the Quality Manager saw potential in me. From thereon, I developed my knowledge and became the Quality Manager I am today.
My role involves me maintaining our Quality Management System, and seeing how Technoset can improve procedures. I also work with customers at the New Product Introduction stage, while developing parts with clients to ensure desired the quality is reached.
A typical day for me would be ensuring the inspection department are clear on the day’s requirements, and they have everything available to make that happen. During production, I monitor quality on the shop floor, and I liaise with customers if they have any concerns or if they want a report on development. I also create First Article Inspection Reports and undertake Production Part Approval Process for customers, while conducting a New Product Information review as part of a team.
I love a challenge, and that is why I love the world of manufacturing. Being part of a team who can find solutions to a problem gives me a great sense of achievement. The fast pace of new technologies in manufacturing and metrology excites me, and I keep abreast of what is available and how it can help Technoset.
